The CPD framework
Continuing professional development is often informal and hard to evidence. The Council gives it structure: a simple way to record what you do, mapped against the professional standards, so your growth is visible to you and to employers.
Members log activities across four strands, building a portfolio that supports recognition and appraisal:
- Classroom practice — observed teaching, peer feedback and action research.
- Subject knowledge — courses, reading and the ELT Review.
- Leadership & mentoring — supporting colleagues and trainees.
- Wider profession — conferences, writing and committee work.

Chartered Teacher Trainer
