About the Council
The Propannex Council (ELT Professionals Board) is an independent professional membership body for English language teaching. We set standards, support continuing professional development, recognise quality training providers and connect teachers, trainers and institutions worldwide.
No. We do not run or sell teaching courses. We are a professional board. We publish standards, run a CPD framework for members, maintain a directory of recognised training providers and share research and resources.
No. We are an independent membership body, not a government regulator. Our standards and recognition are professional rather than statutory, and our work is funded by members.
Through membership subscriptions and event fees. Because we do not sell courses, our standards work and provider recognition stay independent of commercial training interests.
Membership
Membership is open to practising English language teachers, teacher trainers, academic managers and institutions at any career stage, anywhere in the world.
Access to the CPD framework and webinars, the ELT Review research digest, the resource library, professional recognition routes, special interest groups and discounted conference places.
Student is for those training to teach; Associate for early-career teachers; Full Member for established teachers with a CPD record; Fellow for senior practitioners and leaders. You can upgrade as your experience grows.
Yes. Organisational membership is available for schools and training centres. Contact us for institutional rates.
Recognition & providers
Recognised Providers are training organisations assessed against our published quality criteria. Recognition is independent of membership and is reviewed periodically.
Yes. Our directory includes independent reviews and ratings so teachers can compare providers before choosing where to train. Reviews are not paid placements.
Recognition such as Chartered ELT Practitioner is awarded on the strength of your experience and CPD record rather than by sitting an exam. Members build a portfolio mapped to the professional standards.
